“Jackass” Star Steve-O Gets Jail Time for Sea World Stunt

Steve-O of Jackass fame was sentenced to thirty days in jail on weekday for a stunt he force in Hollywood to protest SeaWorld’s confinement of wild ocean creatures.
On August nine, the extreme stuntman climbed a construction crane, go off fireworks associated displayed an expansive orca he nicknamed “Shamy,” that most likely represented SeaWorld’smascot Shamu.

Steve-O posted a wall-of-text message on his Instagram explaining his actions and candidly revealed that he had humanitarian and ego-driven motives. According to his statement, he wanted to bring attention to the plight of orcas. He also revealed that he wanted to show people that he’s more than a “clean and sober, dog-rescuing vegan,” but hasn’t lost his “edge.”
Steve-O is also ordered to stay out of Hollywood’s entertainment district, so no more downtown LA spectacles in the future.
Steve-O, born Stephen Glover, pleaded no contest to misdemeanor counts of fireworks and trespassing. Along with jail time, the judge ordered him to pay $500 in fines and will be on probation for 36 months, said city official spokesperson Frank Mateljan, according to the Los Angeles Times.
